21 Fall Party Themes to Recreate This Autumn
If your fall plans consist of getting together with friends and family, hosting cozy get togethers, and finding any excuse to celebrate the season; then you’re going to love these fall party themes. From an at home café to a petals and pumpkin theme, I’ve put together a mix of fun and creative fall party ideas that you can use to spice up your gatherings.

Fall Party Themes
1. Float Into Fall Party
Who says ice cream is only for summer? Float into fall with an ice cream float party.
Set out a few different soda flavors and ice cream so everyone can make their own float. My personal favorite will always be a classic Coke float with vanilla ice cream, but you could also have root beer, Dr Pepper, orange soda, or whatever flavors your friends like.
Since this fall party theme revolves around ice cream; it works especially well during those early weeks of fall, when it still feels slightly like summer outside. Think September or early October.

2. Fall Dinner Party
Another one of my favorite fall party themes, is a dinner party because you can make it as simple or elaborate as you want.
You could prepare dinner and invite a few friends over, or turn it into a themed dinner party with decorations, games, activities, and a fall inspired menu.

3. Soups and Sweaters Party
The name basically explains this entire party theme.
Invite everyone to wear sweaters and make soup, the star of your menu.
You could prepare one or two soups yourself, or turn it into a potluck and ask everyone to bring a different soup. That way, everyone gets to try a little bit of everything.
Add bread, crackers, toppings, and a few fall drinks and you have a really easy and delicious fall dinner.
4. S’more of Fall Party
If you want a simple fall themed party for a chilly night, host a S’more of Fall party.
Decorate your space with browns, creams, and other neutral fall colors. Then make roasting marshmallows and building s’mores the main activity.
5. Petals and Pumpkins Party
Combine flowers and pumpkins with a Petals and Pumpkins party.
Decorate with pumpkins, fresh flowers, and warm fall colors.
Then set up a bouquet making station with different flowers, so everyone can create their own arrangement to take home.
Also, if you’d like, you can carry the pumpkin theme into the food.

6. Fall Harvest Market Party
If you’re planning a party during that transition between summer and fall, try a fall harvest market theme.
Decorate your space with wooden crates, baskets, chalkboard signs, flowers, and fresh produce to create your own farmers market inspired setup.
For the food, keep things fresh and casual with fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, pastries, cookies, and other market style foods.
7. Fall Picnic
If you live somewhere warm or just want to take advantage of a beautiful fall day, host a fall picnic.
For a small group, you really only need a picnic blanket, some snacks, a few drinks, and maybe a game or two. Find a nice park, spread everything out, and spend the afternoon eating and hanging out together.
If you want something more elaborate, add a low picnic table, floor pillows, blankets, flowers, and a larger food spread.
8. Flannels and Fizz
Have everyone show up wearing flannels and create a DIY soda bar for the party.
Set out different sodas or sparkling water, syrups, cream, and other mix-ins so everyone can make their own dirty soda combination.
You could even print out a few drink recipes for anyone who has no idea where to start.
9. Sweet as Pie Party
A sweet as pie party is another one of my favorite fall party themes, because there’s so many ways that you can host it.
For example, you could turn it into a pie making night, where you and your friends get together in the kitchen and make some pies.
Or make it a potluck, where everyone brings a different pie and you all get to taste each other’s creations.

10. Sweaters and Cider
For an easy fall themed party, invite your friends over for a Sweaters and Cider night.
Create an apple cider station with cinnamon sticks, apple slices, whipped cream, caramel, and other toppings.
Add a few snacks, put on a fall playlist, and you have a really simple cozy party.
Creative Fall Party Themes
11. Rhyme Without Reason Costume Party
If you’re planning something closer to October and looking for creative fall party themes, host a Rhyme Without Reason costume party.
Have guests pair up with a partner. And dress up as two things that rhyme but have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
For example, burrito and superhero.
The more random the combination, the better.
If your guests need inspiration, you can send them a list of Rhyme Without Reason ideas before the party, so everyone has plenty of time to plan their costumes.

12. Dynamic Duo Costume Party
Another fun costume party idea is a Dynamic Duo party.
Everyone partners with someone and comes dressed as an iconic pair.
You could do Mickey and Minnie Mouse, salt and pepper, peanut butter and jelly, soap and a loofah, or basically any recognizable duo you can think of.

13. Meme Costume Party
I’m a sucker for a good meme! If you want a fall party theme that’s trendy and gives everyone an excuse to be ridiculous for the night, host a meme costume party.
Ask everyone to dress up as a meme, viral video, or funny internet moment from the year.

14. Friendsgiving Party
I can’t write a list of fall party themes without including Friendsgiving!!!
Similar to Galentine’s Day, Friendsgiving is one of my favorite celebrations because it’s one of those “official unofficial” holidays that celebrates your besties.

15. Fall Movie Night Party
Raise your hand if you love curling up under a blanket and watching a movie once the weather drops a degree.
A movie night is one of the easiest fall party ideas because you really don’t need much.
Invite your friends over, pile some blankets and pillows onto the couch, put out popcorn and snacks, and choose a cozy fall movie to watch together. That’s it.

16. Fall Painting Party
If you’re looking for an arts and crafts inspired fall party theme, host a painting night.
Give everyone a blank canvas and let them paint whatever they want, or choose one fall painting that everyone recreates together.
And for an easier option, you could provide pre-stenciled canvases or paint by numbers kit.
Add some snacks, drinks, and music, and you have an easy creative activity; that also gives everyone something to take home afterward.
17. At Home Café Party
The at home café party theme has been trending so much lately. And it makes for a cute fall party theme because it naturally leans into those cozy coffee shop vibes.
Transform your space into your own café with a coffee making station, a matcha station, and a spread of pastries, bagels, and other café style snacks.
And of course, you can’t forget the coffee shop background music!!

18. Cookbook Club Party
If your fall plans involve reading more or starting a book club with your friends, try switching things up with a cookbook club party.
Pick one cookbook and have everyone choose a different recipe from it to recreate and bring to the party.
It’s basically a cookbook inspired potluck.
19. Football Watch Party
Fall is officially football season, so if you and your friends love watching the game, host a football watch party.
Have the game playing on the TV. And put together a lineup of game day snacks like wings, dips, sliders, and chips.
20. Pajama Party
Host a pajama party and plan a few simple activities like baking cookies; watching a movie or show; playing games; having girl talk; or just sitting around and catching up.
21. Game Night
A game night is another classic fall party idea. Bring out your favorite board games, plan a few Minute to Win It games, put together some trivia, or mix several different games throughout the night.
