I Ate Free Birthday Freebies For My Birthday: Was It Worth It?
One of the things I was looking forward to for my birthday this year, was receiving birthday freebies. I always get a little excited seeing what different restaurants are offering when my birthday rolls around, and this year I decided to take full advantage of it. So in this post, I’m sharing some of the birthday rewards/freebies I was able to enjoy during my birthday week in 2026.
Before I get into all the delicious food I was able to score for free, let’s quickly talk about what birthday freebies actually are. If you’ve never heard of them before, they’re special rewards that many restaurants and retailers offer as a thank you for joining their email list or signing up for their free rewards program. It’s their way of saying “Happy Birthday!” while treating loyal customers to something special.

Whether your favorite restaurant is Chipotle, Baskin Robbins, Chick fil A, McDonald’s, or somewhere else, signing up for their rewards program is a great way to receive exclusive offers throughout the year. Not only will you stay updated on new menu items and promotions, but you may also get some pretty amazing birthday rewards when your special day rolls around.
Birthday Freebies 2026
First up was Pollo Tropical, where I received a free half chicken meal just for being a rewards member. And let me tell you, this ended up being one of my favorite birthday freebies of the week. The meal was incredibly filling, flavorful, and satisfying. I ordered the half chicken with white rice, black beans, and plenty of their delicious cilantro garlic sauce. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving.
Another filling and delicious birthday reward came from Bolay, which offered me a free regular bowl through their rewards program. For my bowl, I chose black grain rice, kale salad, sweet potatoes, rotisserie chicken thighs, chimichurri tomatoes, feta cheese, cilantro, and lime vinaigrette. It was packed with flavor and made for the perfect lunch.
One thing I loved about redeeming these birthday rewards was that I spaced them out throughout the week. I enjoyed my Pollo Tropical meal for dinner earlier in the week, and then treated myself to the Bolay bowl for lunch on another day.
To end my birthday week on a sweet note, I redeemed my Chick-fil-A birthday reward. They gave me the option of a cookie, brownie, or ice cream, and I ended up choosing the chocolate fudge brownie. It was rich, fudgy, indulgent, free, and honestly the perfect birthday treat. After enjoying so many savory meals throughout the week, it felt like a fun and festive way to wrap up my birthday celebrations.
